Bhubaneswar: While all arrangements have been made for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) in Bhubaneswar scheduled to begin on Sunday, Khurda district administration has said that the students afflicted by COVID-19 will be allowed to sit for the test.
Briefing mediapersons after a meeting, Khurda collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty said the students infected with the virus and those having high body temperature will appear at the test with the advice of the doctors. For them, isolation rooms in 31 examination centres have been earmarked. The invigilators in the isolation rooms will do their duty by wearing the PPE kits.
The collector said that with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, sitting arrangements have been made for 12 students in each room to maintain social distancing. The mask and sanitizers will be provided to each student.
Stating that the medical teams have been deployed in the hostels of five engineering colleges, he said local transport like auto-rickshaws and taxis have been put in place to bring the students to the examination centres.
