Jaipur: In an alarming development, a newborn baby has tested positive for novel coronavirus in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district.
“The baby was born on Saturday and has tested coronavirus positive,” informed Nagaur chief medical and health officer Dr Sukumar Kashyap, adding that the newborn’s mother, father and other family members are also undergoing treatment for the deadly virus.
Dr Shadab Ali, in-charge of the primary health centre where the pregnant woman was admitted, informed the family on Sunday that the baby had tested positive, reports PTI.
A total of 59 people have tested positive so far in Nagaur district. Rajasthan, as a whole, has 1478 positive cases, while 14 people have died.
