New Delhi: In the latest case of the coronavirus infection penetrating key locations, an assistant commissioner of police (ACP) posted at Rashtrapati Bhavan has tested positive for Covid-19.
According to a senior official, the police officer – who lives in a government housing colony in Karkardooma in east Delhi — has been admitted to a hospital.
Though the ACP’s office is in the main building of Rashtrapati Bhavan, his workplace was not at the President’s secretariat, the official informed.
His office and the nearby areas are being sanitized.
Six people have so far been traced who came in contact with the police officer. Their samples have been sent for testing.
Last month, a relative of a Rashtrapati Bhavan staff had tested positive following which 125 staff quarters inside the complex were sealed.
