Jagatsinghpur: Alarmed over surge in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, the district administration on Wednesday issued fresh guidelines to prevent large congregation of people during Holi.
The guidelines issued by district collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra are as follows:
—No celebration of Holi at public places. People advised to celebrate at their homes.
—A maximum of 20 people allowed to perform Dola rituals in temples.
— A maximum of 100 people to participate in Dola Melana with mandatory use of masks.
— A maximum of six people allowed to carry a Dola Bimana
—Beating of drums, song and dance, Meena Bazar and cultural programmes during the Dola Yatra not allowed.
—The Dola Melana Yatra to be concluded by 12 am.
—No throwing of ‘abira’ (coloured powder) at each other during the Dola Melana.
