Jagatsinghpur: Amid the COVID-19 upsurge, the Jagatsinghpur administration has clamped prohibitory orders in two municipalities and six markets in the district.
According to a notification issued by Collector Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, there will be restrictions on the movement of individuals for all non-essential activities between 9 pm and 5 am. Prohibitory orders (curfew) under Section 144 of the CrPC will be clamped in Jagatsinghpur and Paradip Municipality limits and Raghunathpur, Tarapur, Jaipur, Tirtol, Rahama and Kujang markets from Saturday until further orders.
Notably, Jagatsinghpur has reported 128 new COVID-19 cases in the last seven days with the highest 35 being reported on April 13.
While the virus has claimed 38 lives, the number of active cases in the state now stands at 143. The affected tally since March last year has touched 9360 with 9179 recoveries
