Bhubaneswar: With three persons testing positive for COVID-19 in Jajpur, Bhadrak and Puri districts, the state government has imposed shutdown in more areas in the three districts.
On Saturday, Jajpur Collector Ranjan Kumar Das said one of the returnees to Odisha from the Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin in New Delhi has tested positive for COVID-19 in the district.
“He belongs to Brahmabadra village in Rasulpur block. The entire village as well as areas within 3 km radius of the village have been shut down since Friday night. This will remain in force till 8 pm on Sunday,” he added.
The collector also said that the district administration has decided to admit the patient to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack and keep his family members in the district quarantine centre.
Das also requested the people who came in contact with the patient in the last 14 days to voluntarily inform the district administration for immediate health care assistance.
In Puri, the district administration sealed Danagahira village in Pipili block.
Puri Collector Balwant Singh informed that the Pipili civic body has sanitized the entire village and imposed a shutdown, which will remain in force till 8 pm on Sunday.
Bhadrak Collector Gyana Ranjan Das tweeted that the district administration has extended the shutdown order to Erein gram panchayat adjacent to Charampa area of Bhadrak municipality till 8 pm on Sunday. The decision has been taken after a man from this panchayat tested positive after his return from Nizamuddin.
