Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital registered four-digit new COVID-19 cases after a gap of five days with 1001 fresh infections being reported in last 24 hours.
On Saturday, the number of new cases was 871.
Of the new cases in the capital, 210 are from quarantine and 791 through local contacts.
Maximum cases have been reported from Chandrasekharpur (45), followed by, Patia (42), Khandagiri (41), Dumduma (35), Nayapalli (31), Old Town and Patrapada (28 each), Jharpada and Sailashree Vihar (26 each), Niladri Vihar (25), Unit-9 (24), Laxmisagar and Saheed Nagar (20 each), Baramunda and Mancheswar (19 each) and Unit-8 (18).
Meanwhile, another 1,153 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours, leaving Bhubaneswar with 11,488 active cases.
