Bhubaneswar: BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi has supported the demand of her party for free COVID-19 vaccines for persons above 18 years of age in Odisha.
Taking to Twitter, the Bhubaneswar MP said if Bihar, Assam and Uttar Pradesh can provide free vaccines, why it cannot be done in Odisha.
Earlier, BJP’s state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan had also made the similar demand. As states like UP, MP, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam and Sikkim have announced free vaccination, the Odisha government should make similar provision, he said.
Similarly, working president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Pradip Majhi reasoned that since 76% of the people of the state are below poverty line and cannot afford the price fixed by the vaccine manufacturing companies, the Odisha government should announce free vaccine for the people above 18 years.
