There are millions who have been working from home since April 2020. That’s more than a year — long enough for monotony and boredom to set in. Those who had just about started travelling to office around December-January because of the improved COVID-19 situation, have had to retreat to the confines of their four walls as the second wave of the deadly pandemic struck India virulently.
For those longing for a change in work ambience, here’s an offer which they can consider. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has launched a special ‘work from hotel’ package, whereby professionals can avail of a refreshing ambience in hotel rooms in Kerala.
It’s the Indian Railways’ catering and tourism arm’s effort to rekindle confidence among guests to step out for availing hospitality services in the post-COVID world, the company said in a statement.
The package per person, on a triple occupancy arrangement for five-night stay, starts from Rs 10,126 and includes disinfected rooms, three meals, tea/coffee twice a day, complimentary Wi-fi, secured parking place for vehicle and travel insurance.
It comes at a cost, but with most people having had to drop their annual holiday plans last year, this could be an attractive offer to mix pleasure with business.
IRCTC is offering a number of destinations – like Munnar, Thekkady, Kumarakom, Marari (Alleppey), Kovalam, Wayanad, Kochi – and a list of hotels to choose from.
The duration of stay may be extended beyond the minimum of five nights on pro-rata basis.
The packages can be booked online through the IRCTC website or IRCTC tourism mobile apps.
IRCTC is exploring similar packages for other locations too.
