Soro: After watching people’s sufferings on TV ten-year-old Avinash Behera of Gopalpur village under Soro block in Balasore district donated Rs 1000 from his pocket money to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Avinash had saved the money to buy a bicycle for himself but after seeing the suffering of people due to COVID-19 pandemic on TV channels, the boy expressed his wish to donate the money.
On his insistence, his parents informed the Additional Tehsildar Lipsa Roy about their child’s wish.
The Additional Tehsildar called Avinash to her office and asked him to hand over the money.
When Lipsa asked the boy if he would ever repent giving away his savings, he said, “I want the people not to suffer and wish to bring smiles on their faces.”
