Bihar: A case has been filed in a Bihar court against Chinese President Xi Jinping, holding his country responsible for the COVID-19 global pandemic.
As per reports, the case has been filed against the Chinese President and WHO Director Tedros Adhanom in the Court of Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Betiya region of West Champaran district in Bihar.
The case has been filed under IPC sections 269, 270, 271, 302, 307, 500, 504 and 120b. The hearing has been scheduled for June 16.
The lawyer who is helming the case has mentioned names of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump as witnesses in the case.
The US and several other countries hold China responsible for the COVID-19 outbreak as the deadly virus originated from Wuhan city.
Trump even slammed China publicly, stating that COVID-19 is a very bad gift.
“COVID-19 is a gift from China. Not good, they should have stopped it at the source. A very bad gift. How come, Wuhan where it started was in very bad trouble, but it did not go to any other parts of China,” said Trump.
