Bhubaneswar: After one COVID-19 case was detected in Kapila Prasad Phase II area of the city on Sunday, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared Ward No 67 Sundarpada area, covering revenue villages of Ebaranga and Kapilaprasad, as ‘containment zone’.
According to the BMC notification, the areas to be sealed are Sundarpada Municipality Hospital Square to Kaluasuni Temple, Sundarpada Municipality Hospital Square to Sarakantar New Culvert(Near Railway Track), Kaluasuni Temple to Tata Project SeTP and Tata Project SeTP to Sarakantar New Culvert(Near Railway Track)
BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said that no one will be allowed to enter or leave the area to check community transmission of the infection.
Inhabitants within the containment zone have been directed to strictly remain at home and all shopping establishment closed. “The supply of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by CMC after the ongoing shutdown period,” he said.
All government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment
zone have also been closed, he added.
