Bhubaneswar: The number of COVID-19 cases has come down in Odisha for the third consecutive day, the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department informed on Tuesday.
H&FW Additional Chief Secretary, Pradipta Mahapatra said despite more number of tests, positive cases have shown a downward trend in the last three days.
“The number of positive cases in the state on August 16 was 2,924 which came down to 2,244 on August 17 and 2,239 today (August 18), which is a positive sign,” he said.
Mahapatra further said a total of 50,525 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state on Monday. These included 45,343 antigen, 5,106 RT-PCR and 76 TrueNat tests.
Odisha reported 50,241 tests on Sunday and 52,795 tests on Saturday.
