Dhenkanal: The COVID-19 tally in Dhenkanal district rose to 1627 on Monday with 67 new positive cases reported overnight.
According to the district administration, 41 of the new cases were in home quarantine, nine in institutional quarantine and 10 were local contacts. Seven other newly infected were shifted to hospitals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.
The highest of 19 new cases were reported from Kamakhyanagar followed by 13 from Odapada block, eight from Dhenkanal municipality, four from Hindol block, three each from Bhuban NAC, Kamakshyanagar NAC, Kankadahada block, Gondia block, two from Sadar and one each from Hindol NAC and Bhuban block.
With two deaths and 1,135 recoveries so far, Dhenkanal district has 490 active cases at present.
