Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has taken steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus at the Bhubaneswar railway station as per the government direction.
Besides thermal screening of all passengers, baggage scanning and sanitizing provisions are made at platform number-1. A baggage wrapping machine has also been installed, according to a press release of ECoR.
In order to ensure effective management of crowd and social distancing, entry to the station is allowed only through platform number 1. As around 50% of employees are working at the station on roster duty due to COVID-19, the facility is not extended to other platform number 6, it added.
Moreover, the employees working at public contact areas like booking and reservation counters and Train Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) are specially sensitised.
