Cuttack: A landlord in Cuttack’s Malla Sahi area allegedly refused entry to two staff nurses of SCB Medical College and Hospital to their rented accommodation.
According to sources, the two nurses were working in the corona isolation ward in the hospital and stayed in quarantine in the matron’s quarters for a few days after their duty period was over. After taking permission from the hospital authorities when they returned to their house, the owner asked them to first get tested for COVID-19. He said that he would allow them to enter their rented house only when the test results are negative.
The two nurses took the matter to the hospital authorities. However, the authorities demand a written complaint to initiate a stricter action.
“If the matter is brought to the notice of administration officially in the form of a written complaint, we will initiate necessary actions,” Cuttack collector Bhubani Shankar Chayani was quoted by the New Indian Express as saying.
