New Delhi: The coronavirus pandemic has led to a slump in economies across the world. India has not been spared, with thousands losing jobs during the past three-four months.
To help those who have suddenly become unemployed during lockdown, the Delhi government has decided to launch a job portal.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to come up with a number of economy revival schemes which has been adversely affected by the coronavirus-induced lockdown. During the crisis, migrants in huge number were seen leaving the capital after losing jobs due to the shutdown.
“We have managed to arrest the spread of COVID-19 in Delhi. Now there is a need to bring the city’s economy back on track,” said Labour Minister Gopal Rai of the Aam Aadmi Party-ruled state government.
The portal is being launched to help corporate houses find skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled employees. The Delhi government has also formed a 12-member expert committee to help businesses revive from COVID-19 impact.
On July 6, the Maharashtra government had also launched a similar portal, ‘Mahajobs’.
