New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices in the country came down again in the wake of softening in global oil prices.
The retail prices of petrol and diesel fell by 13 and 12 paisa per litre respectively in the national capital on Saturday. Petrol is now sold at Rs 81.86 a litre while diesel costs Rs 72.93 a litre in Delhi, sources said.
Petrol prices came down for second time and diesel prices for fifth time this month. Prior to this month, while petrol prices had gone up marginally, diesel prices remained steady or fell on a few days.
According to market watchers, the continuous fall in demands due to COVID-19 has created a glut in the international market. The crude prices have dipped by 15 per cent gains in the last few days reaching below $40 a barrel from $45 a barrel.
