Nizamabad: A mother’s love for her children knows no bounds. A middle-aged woman from Bodhan showed exemplary courage when she drove a scooter for around 1,400 km to bring her son back home.
Rajiya Begum, a teacher at a local government school, went all the way to Nellore in Andhra Pradesh to get her son, who was stuck there due to the lockdown, reported The New Indian Express.
Rajiya has two sons and a daughter. Her husband passed away a few years ago. Her younger son Nizamuddin has just completed his Intermediate and is preparing for medical entrance at the Narayana Institute in Hyderabad. He had gone to Nellore with his friend at the coaching centre, upon learning that the latter’s father was unwell, NIE further reported.
The lockdown was announced soon after the duo reached Nellore on March 12. Rajiya approached Bodhan ACP UV Jaipal Reddy urging him to let her bring Nizamuddin back home. Once she got permission, she packed food and water for herself and headed for Nellore.
The mother managed to get her son back safely to Bodhan.
