New Delhi: India recorded 1,84,372 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours to take the overall tally to 13,87,825 on Wednesday. The Union Health Ministry data says this a single-day record since the start of the pandemic.
As many as 1,027 more people succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, which took the toll to 1,72,085.
India is the fourth-worst COVID-affected country in the world after the number of active cases surged to 13,65,704.
A total of 83,339 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries stands at 1,23,36,036 with a recovery rate of 88.92 per cent.
According to the Health Ministry, a total of 14,11,758 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours. Till date, 26,06,18,866 samples have been tested.
