COVID-19: India Reports 22,270 New Cases

New Delhi: The COVID-19 tally touched 4,28,02,505 in India with 22,270 more testing positive for the viral infection on Saturday. The Union health ministry said the number of active cases came down to 2,53,739.

According to data updated till 8 am, the toll reached 5,11,230 with 325 new casualties. The daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for 13 days on the trot.

The active cases are 0.59 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has further shown improvement to 98.21 per cent, according to the ministry.

The ministry informed that the daily positivity rate was at 1.80 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was at 2.50 per cent.

However, the recoveries surged to 4,20,37,536 while the fatality rate stood at 1.19 per cent.
