New Delhi: A total of 34,113 new COVID-19 cases and 346 deaths were registered in the last 24 hours, the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare said on Monday.
The toll reached 5,09,011 with the addition of the new fatalities.
This is for the first time during the third wave, the COVID-19 casualties declined across the country in the week that ended on Sunday. New cases also continued to drop at an unprecedented rate.
India logged 3,366 fatalities during the week (February 7-13) showing a 23 per cent dip from the previous week’s toll of 4,355, according to The Times of India.
The country also witnessed 60 per cent fewer cases in the week as compared to the last.
Meanwhile, the recovery of 91,930 patients was recorded in the last 24 hours with the cumulative tally reaching 4,16,77,641. Currently, India’s active caseload is at 4,78,882. The Daily positivity rate is at 3.19 per cent.
