New Delhi: In a huge surge, as many as 35,871 fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in India in the last 24 hours on Thursday. This is the highest spike in cases since early December and took India’s overall tally to 1.14 crore, health ministry data says.
Maharashtra, the worst affected state with the country’s highest caseload, logged 23,70,507 new infections on Wednesday, the highest in 2021.
India had reported 28,903 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 24 per cent fewer than Thursday.
