Mumbai: The three Khans of Bollywood, Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan, are assisting the nation in its fight against COVID-19 with their generous donations.

According to the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) Dabangg actor Salman Khan, who had pledged to support 25,000 daily wage workers, has initiated transfer of funds directly into the workers’ bank accounts from Tuesday.

Salman has pledged to support 25,000 daily wage workers, who have been hit by the nationwide lockdown.

FWICE President BN Tiwari told PTI, “We had given Salman the final list of 23,000 workers, who were in dire need of financial help. He is going to transfer money in installments as he doesn’t want people to misuse it. He transferred about Rs 3,000 to every worker yesterday and he will transfer money again after some time. We are thankful to him for helping our workers.”

Similarly, Shah Rukh Khan, besides contributing to various relief funds, has offered his office building to be used as a quarantine facility for treating the covid-19 infected patients.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) posted on its official Twitter handle, “We thank @iamsrk & @gaurikhan for offering their 4-storey personal office space to help expand our Quarantine capacity equipped with essentials for quarantined children, women & elderly. Indeed a thoughtful & timely gesture.”

SRK’s NGO Meer Foundation and KKR are going to supply 50,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the healthcare professionals in Maharashtra and West Bengal.

Meer Foundation has also teamed up with an NGO Ek Saath to supply food to over 5500 families for a month in Mumbai.

The other ruling B-town Khan, Aamir Khan has contributed to the PM-CARES Fund and the Maharashtra CM’s Relief Fund.

The actor will also be helping the daily wage workers, who are a part of his upcoming film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.

Sharing the details about Aamir’s contribution, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted, “Aamir Khan donates to… #PMCares #Maharashtra Chief Minister Relief Fund, Extended support to the daily wage workers of his forthcoming film #LaalSinghChaddha.”

Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Wednesday informed that the total number of coronavirus positive cases in the country has reached 4,421.
