New Delhi: Even as the country is in the midst of a lockdown to check the spread of coronavirus, a religious trust has planned to host a 51-day ‘yagna’ starting Thursday in Ayodhya for the welfare and good health of human beings.
The yagna will be hosted by Ramadal Trust, according to a report in the Economic Times.
The religious gathering in the Uttar Pradesh city was announced even as the state reported 119 cases of COVID-19. Two people have also died of the disease.
So far, the total number of cases in India has reached 1965, with the death toll jumping to 50. Meanwhile, 151 people have recovered.
Globally, 938,452 have been infected, 47,290 have died and 195,388 have recovered. The US alone has reported more than 2 lakh cases.
