Bhubaneswar: DAV Public School at Pokhariput here celebrated its 29th Foundation Day on Friday through virtual platform, adhering to the social distancing norms in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The programme was viewed by thousands of students through YouTube live streaming while adhering to the regulations of COVID-19.
The celebration was marked by an e-Vedic havan, which was conducted to commemorate the great service rendered by the institution over last 28 years to produce responsible citizens for a healthy society.
The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Principal Dr. Sujata.
The Message of the Governor, Prof. Ganeshi Lal was broadcast after a short documentary on the school’s Journey so far.
School Chairman M. M. Panda and RO, DAV Institutions of Odisha zone, Dr. K. C. Satapathy addressed the students and the staff recapitulating the glorious achievements of the school online.
“The school has never digressed from its vision and mission to serve the nation through education. The learning has never stopped here even during lockdown as our students and teachers meet on virtual classrooms regularly,” said Principal Dr. Sujata in her address while enumerating the school’s achievements in various fields.
The winners of various online competitions like drawing, poster designing, speeches, essay writing, models on ‘Best out of Waste’ and poem compositions were announced during the programme.
A few out of hundreds of written, audio and video messages sent by the students, parents and alumni for the occasion were presented during the celebration.
It was a nostalgic moment for the teachers, who completed 25 years of service at the institution and were appreciated for it.
