New Delhi: On the final day of the 21-day lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that it would be further extended till May 3.
“India’s holistic and integrated approach has been praised by all other nations. Only social distancing and lockdown can contain the spread of COVID-19. Economic loss is not important than the lives of people,” PM Modi said.
He said that regulations will be made more stringent in next one week. “Some relaxations may be allowed after April 20 in places where there is no hotspot,” he said.
He appealed to entrepreneurs not to retrench employees, and asked everyone to help poor families.
