Bhubaneswar: In pursuance of the letter by the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India and the approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Odisha Government has announced the postponement of the first phase of the Census and updation of the National Population Register (NPR) until further orders.
In a letter to all the District Collectors and Municipal Commissioners, Additional Chief Secretary, and State Nodal Officer (Census) PK Jena has said there shall be no preparatory arrangements such as training, awareness, etc. during the intervening period.
Jena has also directed the Principal Census Officers to take necessary action in this regard.
