Rourkela: Two more persons have succumbed to COVID-19 in Sundargarh district, the government informed on Thursday.
The deceased included a 28-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man who was also suffering from uncontrolled diabetes.
Meanwhile, there was a mismatch in the numbers of new positive cases reported by the I&PR Department and the Sundargarh district administration on Thursday.
According to the I&PR Department, the COVID-19 tally in Sundargarh district surged to 1,882 on Thursday with addition of 178 new cases overnight.
On the other hand, the Sundargarh district administration tweeted that only 83 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the district administration, 70 new cases were reported from Rourkela. 12 others from different areas in the district and one is a COVID warrior at VIMSAR, Burla.
