COVID-19 Negative Certificate Mandatory To Visit Sabarimala Temple: Kerala CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday announced that a COVID-19 negative certificate is mandatory to visit Sabarimala Temple.

The Sabarimala temple is reopening on Friday after months of closure due to the coronavirus. However, only 250 people will be allowed to visit on a day, the Kerala chief minister said at a press meet.

Along with the COVID-19 certificate, a medical document certifying that the person is fit for climbing the hill has been made mandatory by the Kerala government to ensure safety of the devotees.

In September, the chief minister had said that the state was planning to conduct the COVID-19 test for the pilgrims.
