COVID-19 Norms: ‘Khatti’ Turns Costly For People In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: With Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announcing that July would be crucial month for containing coronavirus, the authorities of different departments have stepped up the drive to enforce COVID-19 guidelines.

On Saturday, a mobile police team found some people gossiping (khatti in local parlance) near Jaydev Bhawan, here violating the guidelines of social distancing and wearing masks.

According to sources, the police team collected a fine of Rs 5,000 from 12 persons at the spot.

Teams of Commissionerate Police and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) have been actively patrolling the city to enforce the COVID-19 norms and collecting fine from the violators.
