COVID-19 Norms: Police Collect Penalty Of Rs 20 Lakh From Violators Across Odisha In 24 Hrs

Bhubaneswar: Police have collected total penalty of about Rs 20 lakh during the drive against violators of COVID-19 guidelines in a day.

Sources said the police further tightened the measures to strictly enforce COVID-19 norms across the state. During the enforcement drive, they collected Rs 19,75,900 fine from the violators in the last 24 hours.

The police also arrested as many as 16 persons and seized 579 vehicles during the drive, the sources said.

The police drive has been launched to keep the COVID-19 infection rate under control after it came down substantially following strict adherence of the guidelines issued by the government in the last few days.

The state witnessed 387 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
