Bhubaneswar: In view of the COVID-19 pandemic in Odisha, there will be no religious activities of Kaudias (Bol Bom devotees) during the Odia calendar month of Shravan this year.
In a notification on Tuesday, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) said the Bol Bom devotees start their barefoot journey to the Shiva temples on Saturday and Sunday after collecting water from one religious place and pour the water on the Shiva Linga on every Monday of Shravana month.
Considering the large congregation of Kaudias, the state government has decided to ban the religious activities and congregations of the Bol Bom devotees this year.
The SRC has directed police, district collector, Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs) to strictly implement the directive in the interest of the health of the general public.
