Bhubaneswar: The state government on Friday directed the district collectors to keep their COVID call centers fully active and responsive on 24×7 basis.
Reviewing the COVID-19 situation in different districts, chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra discussed the requirements of the collectors. He directed them to reach the patients within least possible time and monitor the home isolation cases closely. The serious patients should be brought to hospital as and when family members or the patient needs it, he said.
Mohapatra also directed the collectors to put in place a system for informing about helath condition of the serious patients to their family members so that they do not rush to the hospitals. All the districts have to functionalise the Covid care centres with oxygen facilities.
He also told the SPs and collectors to deploy fire-fighting teams in all COVID hospitals for instant action. They should be ready for instant action for checking the spread of any fire break for protecting the patients, health personnel and properties, he added.
Additional chief secretary and SRC Pradeep Kumar Jena along with other senior officers were present. Collectors and CDMOs participated in the discussion over video-conferencing.
