Bhubaneswar: The second consignment of COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin of the Bharat Biotech arrived here on Saturday.
Informing the media, director, Health and Family Welfare Bijay Panigrahi said a special cargo flight carrying 1,49,760 doses of the vaccine landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in the city at 8.17 am.
“We have kept the vaccines at the State Vaccine Store and will despatch those to the regional vaccine stores from where those will be sent to the district headquarters in the insulated vaccine vans,” he said.

Stating that the Covid vaccination drive is being successfully conducted across the state, Panigrahi said in terms of the number of vaccinations, Odisha is ranked third in the country.
Referring to the number of vaccinations held on Friday, he said against the target of 13,195 health workers, 16,384 were vaccinated at 152 session sites. Of total 30 districts in the state, 21 districts reported 100 per cent vaccination.
On the number of vaccinations to be carried out on Saturday, Panigrahi said 20,330 health workers will be vaccinated at 221 session sites.
