COVID-19: Odisha Records Highest Single-Day Spike Of 1602 Cases; 285 From Khurda

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha went up to 33,479 on Saturday with the highest single-day spike of 1602 positive cases in last 24 hours.

Out of 1602 cases reported from 29 districts, 993 are from quarantine centres while 609 are local contact cases.

While Ganjam leads the tally with 308 cases, followed by Khurda (285), Rayagada (164), Gajapati (108), Sundargarh (62), Cuttack (54), Puri (50), Dhenkanal (49), Koraput (46), Kandhamal (45), Jajpur (44), 39 each from Sambalpur and Mayurbhanj, Balangir (38), Nayagarh (33), Keonjhar (31), 30 each from Kalahandi and Malkangiri, Balasore (29), Bhadrak (20), Jagatsinghpur (19), 15 each from Angul and Kendrapada, Bargarh (13), nine each from Nabarangpur and Boudh, Jharsuguda (7), Sonepur (6) and Nuapada (5).

With 177 deaths and 20,517 recoveries, Odisha now has 12,737 active cases.
