Paralakhemundi: Concerned over the rise in COVID-19 cases, the Gajapati district administration on Tuesday declared four-day weekly lockdown.
The weekly lockdown from Thursday to Sunday will remain in force till further orders, Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha informed.
Besides all block headquarters, Paralakhemundi municipality, Kashinagar NAC and four panchayats in three blocks will also remain shut down for the four days of the week, the collector said.
The district administration has instructed all block and civic body authorities to ensure strict implementation of the shutdown in their respective areas.
The collector also informed that the three-day weekly lockdown in the district from Monday to Wednesday as declared earlier will remain in force until further orders.
