COVID-19 Outbreak: Odisha Villagers Make Masks Using Sal Leaves

Kandhamal: With masks fast disappearing from medical stores amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the country, many have started to make the protective cover on their own.

According to reports, villagers in Kandhamal district are making masks using Sal leaves to protect their families from the deadly novel coronavirus.

In another instance, the villagers of Mundigarh under Tumudibandh block are making masks on their own using various unique techniques.

The villagers are also spreading awareness about the virus in their villages by putting up posters and appealing everyone to stay indoors during the lockdown.

Besides, the locals are also making each other aware of the precautionary measures such as washing hands by placing a bucket, mug and soap on outskirts of the villages.
