Nabarangpur: Police are on the lookout for a COVID-19 patient who escaped from a hospital in Nabarangpur on Monday.
Briefing the media here, Nabarangpur Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra said that the patient was shifted to the COVID hospital after he tested positive for the virus on July 3. He, however, escaped from the hospital by scaling the boundary wall in the early hours of Monday.
The 50-year-old male patient belongs to Umkerkote block.
Following a complaint lodged by the medical superintendent of the hospital, the Town Police have registered a case and began an operation to locate him.
“The relatives of the patient have been informed about the incident and asked to report to police and other authorities if they receive any information about his whereabouts,” the collector added.
