Bhubaneswar: The drop in COVID-19 cases despite an increase in testing points at a possible downward trend in Odisha, additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Pradipta Mahapatra on Monday.
He was referring to new cases reported in the last two days.
Although the testing has remained above 50,000, the number of positive cases has fallen to 2244 in the last 24 hours, which is a positive sign. The state had reported a record 2924 cases till Sunday morning.
“But it is still too early to form a concrete opinion. We will have to wait for a few more days,” he said.
Talking about COVID-19 tests conducted in the state in the last 24 hours, Mahapatra said 50,241 tests were conducted on Sunday, which included 5639 RT-PCR, 44,640 antigen and 142 Truenat, compared to 52,795 on Saturday.
