Angul: With 27 more persons testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, the total positive cases went up to 228 in the district.
Of the new positive cases, 15 belong to Talcher block, 8 to Banarpal block and four to Kishorenagar block. All the patients have been admitted in COVID Hospital at Talcher, said district collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty.
Six male persons affected by the disease in Talcher are returnees from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Chennai and Jharkhand. Eight persons have been affected in one village of the block.
As many as five persons, who were staying in a Temporary Medical Centre (TMC), have tested positive in Banarpal block.
Similarly, two persons tested positive from a TMC in Kishorenagar. They had returned from Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.
Meanwhile, 10 patients have recovered from COVID-19 taking the total recovered cases in the district to 134.
