Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 recovered cases crossed the positive cases in the Capital City on Wednesday. While 301 new cases were detected, 392 patients recovered from the disease on the day.
Of the new cases, 83 were detected in institutional and home quarantine including 8 from Patia and 6 each from Chandrasekharpur and Niladri Vihar, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Similarly, there were 218 infected cases due to local contacts in different parts of the city. They included 10 from Dumduma, 7 each from Sailasrivihar and Baramunda and 6 each from Bomikhal, VSS Nagar and Old Town.
With the day’s figure, the total COVID-19 positive cases went up to 19,544 in the city. While 15,746 patients have recovered, 73 have succumbed to the disease till date. There are 3711 active cases at present.
