New Delhi: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), under the Union Ministry of Labour & Employment, has decided to extend the date for payment of contributions and administrative charges/lnspection charges due for the cmonth of March 2020 from April 15 to May 15.
In a notification to all zonal, district and regional offices, the additional CPFC (Compliance) has stated that due to the unprecedented situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown announced by the Central Government, a grace period of 30 days (from April 16) will be allowed for filing of Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) to the employers of those establishments which have disbursed the wages for March, 2020 to their employees.
Employers who seek to avail of the above relief, need to file ECR for wage of month March, 2020, on or before May 15, duly certifying the disbursement of wages to employees.
