Bhubaneswar: Acting on the direction of the state government for strict enforcement of preventive measures in the wake of recent surge in the COVID-19 cases in five states, the Commissionerate Police on Saturday said the restrictions will be strictly followed in the capital city.
Talking to the media, Bhubaneswar DCP Umashankar Dash said the norms of wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing will be strictly ensured.
He said the enforcement teams of the Commissionerate Police will take stern action if anyone is found moving without the mask. Apart from this, large congregation will not be allowed.

The Union Health Ministry on Saturday said Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have recorded a sudden rise in daily new cases in the last 24 hours.
While Maharashtra has reported 6,112 daily new cases in the last 24 hours, Kerala recorded 4505, followed by Punjab (383), Chhattisgarh (259) and Madhya Pradesh (207).
