Gajapati: The district administration on Friday declared three-day shutdown in Paralakhemundi town, Gosani and Gumma blocks, Ranipentho gram panchayat of Kashinagar block from Sunday.
According to the tweet posted by Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha, 40 medical teams will conduct health screening in these areas for COVID-19 symptoms.
“Medical emergency and milk shall be allowed,” he added while requesting everyone to co-operate.

Gajapati had reported the highest of 76 corona positive cases on June 23. In the last 48 hours, 52 new cases have been detected. The district has been witnessing a steady spike in COVID-19 cases since June 16, when 56 people had tested positive for the virus.
While 121 patients have recovered from the infection, the number of active cases is as high as 290.
