Sundargarh: Taking note of the gradual rise in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Sundargarh district administration on Wednesday declared a three-day shutdown in Biramitrapur Municipality.
The shutdown in the Municipality will remain in force from 6 am on July 17 to the midnight of July 19, said Panposh sub-collector Biswajit Mahapatra.
Intra-district movement of public and private transport with not be allowed to operate during this period and shops and business establishments, government and private institutions will also remain closed.
Activities to be allowed:
* All medical establishments including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, including medicine stores. Movement of ambulances and all medical personnel.
* Opening of grocery shops and milk booths from 6 am to 12 noon only.
* Telecom services.
* Petrol pumps.
* Print and electronic media identified by District Police.
* Water supply, sanitation and sewerage workers.
Earlier in the day, a 40-year-old corona infected woman of Biramitrapur had died at the COVID hospital in Rourkela.
Notably, the district admission had clamped a three-day shutdown in Biramitrapur Municipality from 6 pm on July 10 to 6 pm on July 13.
