Bargarh: The district headquarters hospital in Odisha’s Bargarh was on Thursday closed for 72 hours after some staffers tested positive for COVID-19.
The district administration has asked the hospital authorities to continue the treatment and discharge of indoor patients with strict adherence to COVID guidelines.
Notably, the western Odisha district, which had fewer positivity cases till mid-August, witnessed a sharp rise from August 22 with 136 cases. It has reported over 150 cases on eight days since then with the highest single-day spike of 396 on September 6.
With nine deaths and 2012 recoveries, Bargarh now has 1920 active cases.
