Malkangiri: Taking note of the rise in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, the Malkangiri district administration on Monday announced night curfew for nine days with effect from Tuesday.
Informing the media on Monday, district Collector Yeddula Vijay said the night curfew will remain in force from March 23 till 11.59 pm on March 31. The duration of the curfew will be from 9 pm to 6 am.
Referring to the ensuing Dola Melana and Holi on March 28 and 29, the Collector said there will be no assembly of people at any public place in the district on these days. However, for the Dola Melana festival, he said a maximum of 50 persons will be allowed for the festival, he added.
The Collector also said for the Bada Yatra festival in the district, a maximum of 200 people will be allowed to conduct the festival with strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
