Khurda: To curb the surge in COVID-19 cases, the Khurda district administration on Tuesday imposed shutdowns in Chilika block, Banpur block, Balugaon and Banpur NAC.
The restrictions will remain in force till 7 pm on August 14.
All shops and business establishments will remain closed during this period, the administration informed. Also, there will be intensive contact tracing during the period.
Khurda district had recorded the highest single-day spike of 342 cases in the state surpassing Ganjam with 222 cases on August 9.
Khurda district has reported 218 cases on Tuesday and also reported three more deaths.
With 41 deaths and 3691 recoveries, Khurda district has 3,139 active cases at present.
