Bhubaneswar: Union Minister of State for MSME, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairy, Pratap Sarangi has urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to implement the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Yojana to ensure timely healthcare facilities for the people of the state.
The Union minister, in a letter, said that he has been interacting with stranded migrant labourers in different parts of the country during the lockdown period to help them with all possible assistance in terms of food/ration, medicines and even hospitalisation.
“I have noticed that many migrant labourers, having critical ailments, are facing financial difficulties in receiving requisite treatment outside the state,” Sarangi said.
Referring to the apprehension of the healthcare professionals that due to prevailing healthcare situation and continued trauma, the post-COVID period may witness a discernible fall in the health profile of our people, Sarangi requested the CMr to consider the implementation of the Yojana in the state at the earliest in the larger public interest.
